Members of NZDFI
The NZDFI is a unique R&D partnership of public and private sector agencies that includes forest seed producers, farm foresters and forest growers.
It was established in Marlborough in July 2008 with members/stakeholders being Proseed NZ Ltd, Marlborough Lines, Vineyard Timbers Ltd, Marlborough
Research Centre Trust, NZ School of Forestry (University of Canterbury), and three landowners. Others supporters included Marlborough District Council, AGMARDT, NZ Farm Forestry Association’s Eucalypt Action Group, Neil Barr FF Foundation, Organic Winegrowers NZ and Marlborough Tree
Growers Assn.
In April 2010, the NZDFI won the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and have funding from the Sustainable Farming Fund from July 2010 to June 2013. In addition, Gisborne District Council, the Hawkes Bay and Greater Wellington Regional Councils, and Environment
Canterbury are all supporting the NZDFI SFF programme
The NZDFI project is administered by the Marlborough Research Centre Trust and is based at the Trust research centre located at Budge Street, Blenheim.
